Enchanted Silken Webs

when evening's twilight first appears
there is calming and soothing rest
it heals the soul of its hidden woes
with tender comfort from nature's breast

as the sinking sun waves its parting good-bye
and the evening stars have come out to play
phantom castles created by the clouds and the moon
sweep all forlornness and sadness away

the ebony crickets chirping loud and shrill
adds more charm with their magical song
while the spiders  enchanted silken webs
reflect silver moonbeams the whole evening long

when the darkness ebbs and the morn is near
nighttime shadows lift and begin to wane
the crickets hide, while the spiders weave
their silken webs over and over again~
